You want to make money from your blog.
How can you make money from your blog?
Blogging is absolutely a profitable business idea that you can get into and make a substantial income from.
However, many bloggers that get into it for money fail. This is because of one reason. They didn’t approach their blogging business as such.
Blogging does take time and effort. Nobody makes six figure in their first few months of blogging. In fact, many bloggers don’t make it big in their first year.
If you’re blogging solely for money without understanding what it takes to run a blogging business, then sooner or later it will begin to feel like work and you’ll get burnt out really quickly just like any other job.
That is where the passion part comes in. Those who are passionate about blogging and helping others through their blog, will get great success in terms of money, relationship and online presence. My favorite blogger Suzi from Start a mom blog is a great example.
There are methods like Sign up for Ad networks, write sponsored posts and promote affiliate products to make money from your blog.
Today, I’m going to talk about 7 creative ways to make money from blogging.
As these methods are fully based on YOU, the initial investment of time and money will be more than the other three methods I mentioned earlier. But these have a huge potential.
So let’s Begin!!!
1|Sell digital downloads
Creating a digital product to sell on your blog can be a great way to earn an income from your blog. It’s my favorite way of making money from blog. And this is my No.1 source of income.
I feel like it’s becoming more popular every day among bloggers to create their own digital product aka printables.
With digital content, you can create a product once and sell it over and over again — often, on autopilot. This means you spend less time on customer service, packaging and shipping and more time on marketing and making.
You can use free tools like Word, Google Doc or Canva to create your product. Also create a great cover page with Picmonkey.
I’m using Sendowl to sell my digital downloads. It’s the platform that is used by most bloggers to sell their digital products.
Create an awesome Sales Page (I use Thrive Landing Pages) and direct people to that through all possible ways and get more sales.
Here are examples of digital downloads you can create and sell on your blog.
- Swipe Files
Another great knowledge-based digital product to sell is online courses.
Many people believe that the only way to create a successful online course is to make it about something related to blogging or making money online.
While it’s true that there are plenty of courses out there about Pinterest, making money with affiliate marketing, create a successful blog etc..
You can create an online course for just about niche as long as you are providing value and teaching something useful to your audience.
Let me show you some example.
Elna Cain from Twins Mommy.com has an awesome course on freelance writing write your 1k
There are various platforms that you can use for creating online course. My favorite is Teachable. It has a great user interface also helps to create a high converting sales page.
You can also sell E-mail courses. You can use Convertkit or Mailerlite to create and sell your online course.
Offering service is another great way to make money with your blog.
- Freelance writing
- Virtual assistant
- Social media management
- Blog/social media account review
- Coaching services
You can create and sell templates for a various uses like resumes, media kits, logos, and social media posts, just to name a few.
You can design these kind of template using free graphic design program Canva Or even with MS Power Point. You could also create templates to be used with Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
You can also create social media templates and sell it for a good price. Either create a set of templates and sell it or create based on customer requirement.
Kristine from Believe in a budget sells Pinterest Templates.
5|Sell stock photos
Do you love photography? Your Stock photos could be the digital product for you! All you need is a nice camera and decent photo editing software.
There’s a huge market right now for styled stock photography. Everyone from bloggers to business owners to social media managers are looking for the perfect photos to post on social media and use to create graphics.
You can sell your photos individually or in bundles, or create a subscription-based website for your customers. An example of this is Ivory Mix (I use stock photos from this site for my blog and social media graphics), which offers stock photo bundles and a monthly membership for access to pretty, feminine stock photos.
6|Offer paid workshops
Paid workshops are another great way to make money if you dare to show up online before a group of audience. You can price it according your choice. Kyle from Dish it out social had utilized the method effectively.
She had done 5 paid workshop within 2 months’ time and made almost $1k from those. You know how much she charged for each workshop? Just $10. Isn’t it great?
And you know the best part, you can sell the recording as another digital product.
7| Create A Paid Membership
This is something that not a lot of bloggers choose when they want to monetize their blog. But if you have a great program, you can get a recurring income every month. It could be a great way of income.
Out of all the digital products to sell on this list, membership sites might require the most time and energy, but there’s a great potential for earning.
You could create a paid membership for your loyal readers where you would offer them exclusive and highly valuable content each month.
If you want to start a Membership site, keep in mind that you would have to work twice as much as you did before to create exclusive content for your members because it is kind of like having a second blog to deal with.
Another thing that you have to know is that unless you’ve really good content, most of your subscribers are not going to stay subscribed to your blog forever (not more than 3 months on average). What does this indicate – you’re going to have to constantly promote your paid membership like crazy to make sure that the number of people who subscribe is higher than the number of people who unsubscribe.
I’m pretty sure you have never thought of that one, but you could actually ask your readers to give you some money to support your blog if they’d like.
It’s probably not going to be your biggest source of income, but if you have an awesome blog (and I’m sure you do!) and loyal readers, then you could make some money from donations.
Twelveskip.com is a good example for this.
